PLAYING AT MTC

Members MUST book court time to play! It’s easy! Use the app on your SmartPhone. Why? This data  helps the Club understand play trends to optimize programming. We have noticed several members on the  courts without a booking already. Let’s break that habit and make sure you book the court

TURN OFF THE LIGHTS! If you are the last to leave, hit the OFF button on the post beside the lacrosse  box.

Use the CALENDAR function in Court Reserve to see what is coming up and REGISTER if you don’t see it  on the Event List

MEET OUR NEW CLUB TENNIS PRO! PARTICIPATE IN FREE SKILLS CLINICS!

Come out and meet Dennis Vitaliano on one of the Skills Assessment Days! Enjoy some fun tennis drills,  work on your game, and meet other tennis players at the Club. Sign up for one session on Court Reserve  under Events! First session – Sunday April 7 @ 5:30pm

GROUP TENNIS INSTRUCTION – REGISTRATION IS OPEN

See separate email with detailed information on the 2024 Tennis Instruction Program at MTC. Programs  include: Learn to Play; “Challengers” (Intermediate skills improvement); Grand Slams; Juniors Development;  Summer Tennis Camps. PLEASE NOTE many sessions have appropriate age restrictions. To register,  your profile MUST include your birth date/year for the system to recognize eligibility to a program.

GROUP PLAY TENNIS SESSIONS

The weather is beginning to warm up for tennis! Later this month you will begin to see some group tennis  sessions in Court Reserve. Remember, you must sign up for group play

LOOKING FOR OTHER PLAYERS TO PLAY A GAME?

Court Reserve has a terrific feature that allows you to book an “Open” Court for Tennis OR Pickleball.  Here’s how it works.

Let’s say you want to play Tennis tomorrow 4pm-5pm. In Court Reserve:

Choose Book Tennis Court

Select day and time

Select Singles or Doubles (your preference)

At the bottom of this page you see “Is Open Reservation” - click the toggle button

The next page you choose sport type as Tennis AND select a Match Type (practice, social, competitive,  drilling) and maximum players

On this same page, you should also add a few words under “what to expect in this match” (eg social novice  play, or competitive intermediate etc) that best describes what kind of games you want to play

If there is an Open Booking, other members can see this and can add their name to the booking.  There may be several other people who would like to get on the courts and are looking for players.

GROUP PLAY PICKLEBALL RATINGS

Members have overwhelmingly asked for group level play. To sign up for group play, a play level must be  assigned to you by MTC admin in the Court Reserve system. If you have a DUPR rating or can provide  proof of rating from ONE Health, ORC or tournament play, we ask that you send an email titled “Pickleball  Rating” with a screenshot or other photo proof of that rating to info@meadowwoodtennis.com.  If you do not have proof of rating, we will be running assessment sessions later in April (TBA). (Note this is  only needed to join Level Play Groups

If you are a beginner player (1.0 rating), you have several options: (a) participate in an upcoming Learn to  Play Pickleball clinic (TBA); or (b) ask friends to teach you the game, etiquette, and skills drills; or (c) both!

GROUP PLAY PICKLEBALL SESSIONS

The weather is beginning to warm up for pickleball! Members will begin to see some group pickleball  sessions in Court Reserve. Level Play sessions require MTC rating (see note above). Remember, you  must sign up for group play!

LEARN TO PLAY CLINICS

Instruction in game rules, court etiquette, skills and drills – for members who are new to the game and want  to learn. Clinics are planned for late April and into May. Sign up will be on Court Reserve. Stay tuned for  more information coming very soon!

MERCHANT OF TENNIS LOYALTY PROGRAM

Need new tennis or pickleball gear? Maybe new court shoes or clothing? Upgrading a racquet or paddle?  When cashing out in-store between April 1 to September 30, we ask that members share our Club name.  This means MTC will earn Club Loyalty Dollars (CLD). At the end of the season, the accumulated CLD  value will be channeled back into the Club and for the benefit of our membership.

Next time you are buying something at Merchant of Tennis, remember to tell them you are a member of  Meadowwood Tennis Club!
